Steampunk Airship

Build a cabin in the sky, suspend it from a balloon, and soar off on grand adventures with the Steampunk Airship—a whimsical mini model zeppelin with vintage flair. This mechanical airship features a tugboat-style cabin with a back porch, a wind-up rubber band motor with a Start/Stop switch, engine-driven propellers, a spinning ship’s wheel, movable stabilisers, and small wheels that allow the model to travel up to 2 metres across flat surfaces.

Inspired by early airship designs like those of Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin, this model captures the charm of a bygone era. With its rounded frame and homey cabin, it's easy to imagine sipping tea at a small table while plotting your course across clouds and continents.

With only 170 parts and an “Easy” build rating, the Steampunk Airship is a great entry-level project. No glue or special tools are needed—just punch out the laser-cut pieces and snap them together, following the detailed illustrated instructions included in 11 languages. Sandpaper and wax are provided to help smooth and lubricate the moving parts for best performance.

Once assembled, the model can be left in its natural wood finish or painted and decorated to suit your style (paints not included). It’s a creative, hands-on project that doubles as a charming display piece and a great introduction to basic mechanical motion.
