The Tractor Wins

There’s strong—and then there’s farmer strong. The Tractor Wins model pays tribute to the strength, courage and resilience of Ukrainian farmers. In the early days of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, photos and videos began circulating of Ukrainian farmers towing away abandoned or disabled Russian tanks and military vehicles with their tractors. These images—at once brave, resourceful and unexpectedly humorous—became a symbol of defiance and a global meme that captured hearts around the world.

This mechanical wooden tractor is powered by a wind-up spring mechanism, activated using a key located underneath. A lever in the cab acts as a Start/Stop switch. Once engaged, power is transferred through a gear system (including a pendulum to regulate speed) to rubberised wheels, allowing the tractor to travel across flat surfaces. Rear wheels feature an overrunning clutch for tighter turning, and the doors, hood and hatch can be opened. The front wheels can also be turned manually to adjust direction.

Laser-engraved details include sidewall tyre markings and a small flag with a trident symbol, representing Ukrainian strength and national pride.

Included with the kit is a cardboard tank that can be easily folded and assembled—no glue needed. Its lightweight design allows for customisation, so you can colour or “battle-damage” it however you like. A tow string connects the two, letting you recreate one of the war’s most iconic moments in miniature form.

The Tractor Wins kit includes 272 parts (wooden tractor, cardboard tank, and tow string) and is rated Intermediate difficulty. Assembly takes around 7 hours and requires no glue or special tools—just follow the illustrated step-by-step instructions included in the box.
